Why do we heavily recommend our .500" and .501" bore (.50 caliber) barrels over the .45 Caliber choices?   Simply really...  

There is a misconception that the .50 caliber cannot shoot bullet to bore (sabot-less) projectiles and that is a total falsehood and complete misunderstanding of Muzzleloader Ballistics and projectile selection.  Also the arguemenet "I hear that Sabots are incapable of extreme performance and long range shooting" ... also a major misconception and ignorance of many custom ML builders with little true field experience.

Choosing our sabot-based solutions we supply the "complete" package, we supply bullets and sabots with and without Magnum Sub-bases and also suggest .458 dia. projectiles over the .451" and .452" in our rifles...

Determined to use only non-sabot based projectiles?   That is fine!  We offer customized projectiles by Hornady and Thor for bullet to bore contact or suggest the Parker 275's and our specially formulated sabots for extreme performance.  

We special coat the Hornady FPB and Thor Projectiles .500" -.503" projectiles with our proprietary bullet coating (black hex boron) for enhanced sabot-less shooting or offer proper sized projectiles in the THOR brand of sabot-less projectiles.

Projectile sizes for .500" to .503" for perfect fit and performance.   We also provide up to 5 recommended bullet and powder solutions when you purchase our Extreme Muzzleloader and we assist in choosing the right solution for your intended quarry including tuned optics turrets for dial-in accuracy.

If shooting sabot-based projectiles in our weapons we recommend the Nosler 300 Grain in the Ballistic Tip .458 caliber with MMP Orange Sabot -- these have just been proven to work time and time again with BP, BP Equiv, or smokeless powder in all our LR Extreme Muzzleloaders... go with what works and kills, not what looks or is perceived as un-realistic blistering speeds as promoted by the competition... they may know paper, they do not know terminal ballistics like we do!

We highly recommend the Pittman Bullets for use in all our .45 Caliber XML Builds.   Call us for help in choosing the right bullets, the right loading tools and methods for sizing your bullets.

Performance, breech plugs based on any .473" case head cartridge.  Allows for a complete seal and ignition of the Large Rifle Magnum Primers to ensure optimal and precise powder ignition every time!

For the Savage 10ML-II we can provide the PR Bullet Designed LRVF Breech Plug at your request or other custom solutions as desired.  For the Remington Barrels we highly recommend PR Bullet Breech Plug without compromise.

Performance breech plugs untilize a hybrid ignition system utilizing Magnum Primed & trimmed brass (on a .473" case head), and the breech plug incorporates the Savage ML-II "VENTLINER" Technology for extreme performance and powder burn.

Properly sized/trimmed (22-250, 243 or 308 Win., any case with the .473" case head can be utilized).  This ignition system provides for a sealed and optimal burn of the powder charge offering a complete chamber seal technology (this is the "why" and "how") so we can drive velocities way up while maintaining down range accuracy and performance.  Barrels by PR Bullet, Ontario, Canada, Hart, or Proof Research at your request.   Precision barrels for Remington are available at your request.

With the option of a "switch-barrel" you can swap barrels using our unique threading and recoil lugs, to shoot centerfire rifle cartridges.
